KADO in literary Japanese means gate, so KADO++ has been described as the entrance to a vibrant Japanese dining experience in a trendy and modern atmosphere in Jakarta. In addition of the ‘plus plus’ to their restaurant name signifies the new concept that sets it apart from their first restaurant. The place is divided in two different seating areas by a glass covered kitchen and bar; groovy colourful for the smoking and non-smoking area with earthy colours to mark its back to nature nuances. They got a warm and rustic atmosphere with exposed brick walls and wooden bookshelves.
A variety of Japanese menu is available here, notably baked, roasted and grilled; their signature dishes are Takoyaki (grilled octopus ball dumplings), assorted Kushiyaki (skewered grilled dishes) and a rich Show more selection of Kamameshi (traditional Japanese rice dish cooked in an iron pot) with various toppings; chicken, seafood and unagi (eel); garnished with sprinkling of edamame. The best part of any Kamameshi is of course when you get to the bottom and finds it slightly burnt, fragrant, and crunchy rice crust.
Order from the signature cocktail and sake list for the perfect beverage to go with your choice of meal, be it Koshi No Hatsuume, Kaze-yo-mizu-yo-hito-yo or perhaps Shochu Kuro Kirishima.
This restaurant also serves wine and Korean so-ju at the bar, by glass or in bottles.
