Button Down - Jakarta

In the beginning of 2015, Button Down has been an ongoing exercise in the pursuit of joy and timeless aesthetic through the discovery and creation of clothing products. Button Down is an Indonesian brand focusing on making collections of shirt that pays tribute to the brand’s heritage itself and also considering the past and present while developing each product.

Before we start making new pieces, we return to the company archives and exploring fabrics from old line books, tweaking them with dyes and reworking patterns, scale and construction. We want to bridge the old and new aesthetics and make them as our philosophy. We continue to honor the importance of the button-down oxford and classic camp collar shirt while continually pushing the boundaries of a traditional shirt-based collection.
